With Runcorn and Widnes as the major towns of Halton, there are also many parishes and villages which make up the Borough. The Village of Daresbury, where Lewis Carroll was born is a quiet countryside village with a typical village Church with stained Glass windows depicting Carroll's Life.

Hale Village was home to allegedly the tallest man in England at 9ft 3 inches!, John Middleton, known as the Childe of Hale was weel known both in the area and to the then King James I .

Whether its walking on the hills or weaving your way down a canal, Halton has something to offer everyone.
